So after about ten years and the last two dealing with waders full of water I guess it's time to replace.

Best brand for the money. Not looking for cheap not looking for crazy expensive

The older Lacrosse Alpha Swamp Fox was a great set of waders, but I haven't bought a pair of those since they changed the model all up to appease the gimmick obsessed waterfowlers. I just roll with Lacrosse hip boots like I grew up on

Personally I hate Neoprene waders. Drake Boat Pants is all I wear now. THEY ARE AWESOME. It's like putting on overalls.

I am biased towards neoprene because I don't wear anything when it's hot and when it's cold I like the flotation then neoprene provides

Damn those things are high. $300.

I'm gonna try to get one more season out of my Dri-fits and then maybe I'll move to the banded

This X 1,000,000. I have a pair of breathables that are going on 3 seasons. Not pricey, lots of pockets, and well constructed. Plus, you can return them at Academy with zero hassle. Before that I just kept the box on the last pair and busted a hole in them a few months after purchase and just walked into Academy and got some new ones.

The Banded are nice, but they tear a little more easily than the old 5mm neoprene waders. Gator Waders are a newer wader that is getting some attentions.

I have a pair and they are unbelievable. Super light and comfortable. Plenty of storage space as well.

They're actually sold under the Magellan brand as of this year, but I agree. The Magellan Tredlite 400 Breathable Waders ($139) are awesome.

I would try on a pair in-store before ordering as the boots run small.

Fwiw - it appears Academy is doing away with Game Winner entirely and consolidating all that merchandise under the Magellan brand. The items are staying the same, just getting re-badged.

I bought the red zones last year. You will not find a more comfortable pair of waders. I'll be able to speak more on the durability when I get them out the shop and see if they have dry rotted.

I will not buy another pair of expensive waders once these crap out though. In the future I will just buy a new pair of the tough guard game winners every season for like 100 bucks.

Best for $: cabelas dryplus breathable.

Honorable mention: game winner breathable (got a pair for like $75 on sale).

I've always used cabelas neoprene waders, but the quality has gone way down in the past several years. I tried the Roger's brand neoprenes and they are fantastic. Be patient, and you can catch them on sale. Definitely worth the price.

If you could only have one pair would you go with the insulated or non? Cant decide which ones to get. Hunting mostly south Arkansas if that helps.

Insulated unless you have a really good pair of wader pants. I've worn mine from breaking ice at 13degrees all the way up to 70.

Does anyone make waders in what Drake calls the "old school" camo pattern? I always just called it brown camo, but can't seem to find a single manufacturer who does.

Non. No question. I can always add more layers when it'd cold, but you can't take away layers when it's hot in teal season or early big duck season if your waders are insulated.

I've worn non-insulated Game Winner (now Magellan) waders in negative Temps and my legs were fine because I layered appropriately. I hunt primarily NWOK and frequently break ice going in and don't have an issue with my non-insulated waders.

Not to mention, walking/wading any decent distance in non insulated waders is no problem. Trying walking/wading 5 miles or more over the course of a day in heavy neoprenes. It's a pain.
