In need of six 6 volt batteries for golf cart I just got from friend. I live in Hammond so anywhere between slidell, nola and BR would be good. I got a quote today from battery depot in Hammond. Where else should I check? Thanks

You need 6...8 volt batteries, right? There’s a custom golf cart shop close (in BSL) I bought mine at. $700 or so.

36v carts were popular before the 48v ones so I'd say he's right on the 6-6v.

I'm in the same boat right now. I'm considering 3- 12v. A LOT of the newer carts are equipped with 4-12v for a 48v system so I assume the 3 will work just fine. Will probably be much less also. Look for a place that does custom carts. Usually they get them from golf courses and completely strip them down and put in new batteries. Sometimes you can get a decent set for 1/2 price or so you would pay for new.

If you want new, Sam’s has decent prices on golf cart batteries. I bought 6-6 volt a couple years back, and think paid around 590 with tax. Will need core though, to avoid core charge

I saw a guy buying new ones in Sams the other day. You may want to check there.

You get less run time off 12v vs 8v. I’d stick with 8. I bought some Trojan T875s recently but I plan to switch to lithium as soon as a certain size is released from Roypow. I’d take a look at those personally. Longer runtime, little more power, faster charge time, no maintenance needed, lighter. If your cart is Heavily modified they’re coming out with some that have a higher amp discharge rate.
