So I am having Achilles tendonitis issues so am looking to get some new boots to help with support. Looking at either timberland or Thorogood boots. Leaning towards timberland because they offer lighter composite toe boots. Any other recommendations?

Go with the Thorogoods, get some high quality sole inserts. You’ll be very happy.

My Timberland lace-ups are very comfortable. I've never tried Thorogood.

I went through two pair of Timberland Pro in less than a year. They were comfortable, but they fell apart in no time. My Wolverines have been great.

If foot support is an issue, you should look at Keen Utility work boots (available with steel toes). I particularly like the "Detroit" with mid-height leather uppers, but they have full height models as well.

I haven't had them in a few years, but I used to find Doc Martens to be the most comfortable...

I have a pair of wolverines and they are very comfortable. I haven’t tried the others mentioned. But I had plantar fasciitis and the wolverines gave good arch support taking pressure off my heel.

Irish Setter. They have have leather and hiking type with and without the safety toe.

One of my superintendents wears the leather ones and swears by them.

Last pair of lace ups I had were Timberland Pro and they sucked.

I used to be a sales rep for a safety shoe company and we always had issues with those holding up. Just spend the extra money and go Red Wing.

The best boots depend on your feet. Each maker uses a different last.
