Get you a 1.5 gallon to 2 gallon silicone block form for making ice (Snow cone type block to shave ice). Freeze that block and drop in your cooler and put bagged ice over and around it. Ice will last you for a week in hot weather in a cheap igloo ice chest.

Ice mass is the ticket.

The top of all of the cheap ice chests have a drain hole, or is it a drain hole. Pop it out fill it with water and freeze the lid itself. It will keep ice a day or so longer than normal. Which means a Coleman extreme the last 5 to 6 days easily if you don't open it

If you are in and out, get anything that is big enough to pack enough ice to have plenty in there.

If you are not in and out and storing ice a molded cooler, I am probably one of the few that has noticed better performance out of my Yetis than other molded ones, but that may be just isolated.

I think someone here has mentioned the lifetime coolers, I think that may be a great choice.

I plan to add a 77 qt lifetime soon. I like their front latches and are priced considerably lower than many molded options.

And being significantly lighter, while still strong enough is great. I think they are the perfect cooler for what most of us use coolers for.

I have two of the NoColor brand and they are as good as it gets. Too bad they’re discontinued.

I've had this one (55 qt) for a few years and love it. Think I paid $100 at the time.
