Dude, I fish 90% of the time out of a flatboat and service all my reels myself. I know my equipment inside and out, and what it’s capable of.
There is no way in hell you are throwing a weightless trick worm 70 feet into the wind, period.

Anyone using an ambassador 5000 for bass fishing nowadays with all the great baitcasters made is questionable to start with.
I would like to see that reel throw that weightless worm that far with the wind

OK you got me. I just went on google maps to measure the exact distance from where I was standing to what I was casting to (both visible on the map) and it is actually only 59.44 ft.

I would recommend a daiwa tatula sv if you could find the right deal on ebay, another good one is the daiwa tatula ttu100. They discontinued them but you can find some killer deals on a revo ALX between $100-120 range. These are some great reels as well. Found one on clearance at academy a few months ago for $99 and have been impressed with it. Not sure if any of these will sling a weightless trickworm 60-70 ft though.

Fished with the Tatula CT for the first time yesterday. Smooth feeling and easy to set up. Spooled it with 12lb Yo-Zuri fluorocarbon and didn’t have any issues.

I have one and love it. That's another great option in your price range.

Who want to meet me at sonic for a cast-off?

You buying the chili-cheese tater tots?

Have the same reel... probably 20 yrs old now... it's my favorite out of all the gear I have... use it for everything that I fish for... bass, reds, specs
An original 5500c3 is damn hard to beat, imo
Idk about your casting abilities into the wind, and frankly, don't really care... but ive pulled some miracle casts with it over the years myself
that's a reel I will have till the day I die

Understanding different types of fishing reels isn’t a difficult as you might think. While there are several variations of fishing reels on the market, like surf reels and trolling reels, there are just four main types to consider when learning how to choose a fishing reel. I have witnessed newbies buying reels just because "any fishing reel is a reel".
Quite a big choice on the market, A lot of options. I personally did find https://under-the-open-sky.com/best-baitcasting-reels to be quite the handy little place to get some information. It's where I decided I want to purchase a "Daiwa Tatula SV TW" reel. Only cost me 160$, which was worth. After using bad and cheap reels it did take some time getting used to something new. At this point, I can say that it's better to build your own rood with good quality gear. Sure, you might spend a dime but it will last you a very long time.

Interesting bump, but I guess this discussion never gets old.
Would have to agree with you, I only have one but the Curado K has become my favorite over a couple 13 Fishings and a Curado I (I believe).

One can't say Lew's is better than Garcia or 13 or any of the other because the same factories are making all of them. Just a matter of whether or not you're actually getting the tier of reel you're paying for.
I don't have a dog in this fight, because I don't think I own a bass reel that's less than 20 years old. I was browsing this thread because I think I'm about to get a new one or two though.
However, I will say, just because something is built in the same factory, doesn't mean it's remotely the same. As someone who does contract work for the military, I can vouch for that. The quality of the reels depends on how they were engineered, and what kind of build and component instructions the companies send to that factory. You might say that the quality of how they're assembled is (probably, depending on QA tolerances stipulated by the owners of the brand) the same, but there can be a lot of difference in the actual reels.

They are more than remotely the same.

They may be. But, that doesn't change what I said.

And it doesn't make what you said applicable to these Korean manufacturers.
