go to s shooting range and try out a 30-06 and .270 and decide which one is best for you man. Both are good guns. I have Ruger 30-06 bolt that has never missed for me. my son shots a remington .270 that he is very good with. it is just personal prefence man. but get a good scope for either. I have leopold varx 111. A good scope will run you about half cost of good rifle 250-400.

If you have personal issue about the size of your manhood go a head a get .300 mag or bigger. I have a few in the closet I inherited. My dad used to use them for hunting dall sheep in Alaska and big game like cape buffalo in Africa. You will never need them in the deep south.

I tend to side with the .270, which is why I got something very similar in my .280. Nothing wrong with a 30-06 though. All just a matter of opinion, and good optics is probably a more important issue...

Won't matter. You'll be taking them for free from the deserted sporting goods store anyway.

I'm in the same situation with the .338 lapua. I really, really want one.

For the long range killing of the zombie horde of course.

Encore?

I would like to try to wake up a mountain goat at a mile away just to see if I can do it. Climbing up to get the f'ker is another story though.

Shoot it in the face with a tacticool judge. There will be no goat to get.

That requires some serious climbing for no goat meat.

Found that I pretty much take my. 308 everytime I head out into the woods. I love it. Don't shoot any of my other rifles really anymore

My friend hunts with a Remington 700 VTR in .308 with a Zeiss Conquest 800 Rapid Z. It is a damn sweet setup.

accurate and all-purpose from an ammo perspective
Look at the .257 Roberts (smaller than the Weatherby). Has a lot of different loads and is accurate.

Ammo is hard to come by but it is a deadly white tail round. That is what my aunt's ex husband used. Had somebody hand loading for him.

7mm Rem. Mag Go big or go home

This gun will kill elk, deer. I've seen an elk shot 5 times with a .270, yeah yeah shot placement but when its late in the season and they are skittish and a 400 yd shot is what it takes, the 7mm mag will do it. Drops them

Only sell it if you intend to replace it. It is against OB rules to reduce the amount of guns you own.
