For the money, probably a Toyota

not looking for Nissan or yota's. full sized truck is what I'm in the market for

I personally suggest chevrolet/GMC, Because that's what I like. They all make good trucks though.

Are asking who has the best 4x4 drive system or overall best truck. If you are basing it strickly on 4x4 they are all about the same....none are a true 4x4's so buy the truck you like and put lockers in the front and rear...and get a good set of tires.

Titans and Tundras don't count?

This thread is gonna be biased, so I'll say they all make good trucks. I like the ford interiors better than the lacking gmc/chevy trucks, but they all stand by their product for a reason.

Good man. That shite is pointless.
You're gonna have war in this thread eventually.

My decision is based on pure reliability. And yes they are all pretty close the same. Dodge has shitty transmissions, Fords usually have motor problems and Chevy usually some type of suspension. Im going to take a U joint or something similar going out over the trany or motor problems any day of the week. These are just my opinions and experiences though.

I'm not gonna flame the fire and say no. I'll just say I'm not interested in them.
oh...the truck I want has 4 doors, too

Everyone is going to recommend what they have. Go test drive them all and see which YOU like best.
That being said, I love my 2011 Ram...it isn't a 4x4 though...but it is a sweet truck

I usually go for the best deal since I'm not that hard on a vehicle but have always had a 4x4. I've had 2 chevys and a ford, latest being a Ford and will def get another when the time comes. Has held up well and haven't had the problems I encountered with chevys.

Had an 05 Dodge ram that I got 80k mikes out which ran perfectly till I wrapped it around a tree. I just got a new F150 that is an amazing truck. Both were/are 4x4 but for the money you can't beat a Dodge. The older ones had their share of problems, plus more, but the newer ones are getting great reviews.
Edit for grammar.

And unfortunately that shtick of having weak transmissions has stuck with the brand. My old 2004 Ram had 89,XXX hard miles on it when I sold it. The guy I sold it to has had to have put at least another 10,XXX on it by now and he sprays a 100+ shot of nitrous through it and runs it at the track...still on the stock transmission. So F the haters LOL. Never had any problems with that truck that I didn't cause myself...and the new one has been incredible as well.

i really appreciate all the feedback....i was told today that dodge's ran CONSIDERABLY cheaper than chevy, gmc, or ford trucks do....any truth to that?

You couldnt pay me buy another Dodge. Our farm truck is a Dodge and its always breaking down. Little things but its always something. POS. When we replace it, it will be with a Toyota or a Ford.....

The Rams are indeed considerably cheaper. Some say this stems from their bad reputation but in all honestly, they are just a good ole modest truck. Their sport and Laramine packages are the top of the line and compare to Chevy LTZ and a real nice F150 Lariat but not quite a king ranch.
If the transmission worrys you (I would not think twice about it), they are introducing a 6 speed in 2012 that has been tested more than the current one. The only reason I got a F150 was because I wanted a platinum and Dodge did not offer a comparable interior.
And far as the haters saying that they wouldn't own or drive one, try a new one and good luck wiping that grin off your face.
