Anybody think we need bears in Louisiana?Personally it chaps my butt that the Feds and the state have spent tons of money expanding the bear population. In my opinion they are as bad as wild hogs except they don’t multiply like hogs,we don’t need another nuisance animal. There have been several bear sightings in Grant Parish last few months, yesterday guy showed me picture of one he saw between Colfax and Montgomery.
Guys I have talked to that have land around Tensas and also close to Buffalo National Forest,Arkansas hate them.
I have had bad problem with wild hogs last few years, bought an expensive remotely operated hog trap and have had some success with it. Now I have to worry about bears moving in and eating my hog bait.Hogs are not easy to trap,it will be impossible if bears find it.
I tred to get my step-sons interested in hunting but they didn’t take to it,I was hoping my grandsons would ,already have them youth model deer rifles but they’re not showing much interest and I’m no longer encouraging them.My deer hunting has gone to shite since the wild hogs moved in last 5 years, now deer hunting has become more of an exercise in frustration.

They were here before you and I unlike the pigs. They have more business being here than we do.

They are quite prevalent along the Vermilion River in lower Vermilion Parish. The will vandalize all of your hog and deer feeders and are quite the nuisance.

I’m with you. Cannot understand why we’d want to have them or what purpose they serve. They’re going to end up being a nuisance.

I don’t dislike them as much as I do hogs. I don’t feed for deer so they really aren’t a problem for me.

Yes they are, my camp last year. He was going after 20 pounds of corn in that blue barrel and he got it after he destroyed the barrel. This was about 5 videos I put together because the trail cam will only record 10 seconds at night and 30 during the day.

Bears were in Louisiana before humans. This is the definition of conservation

uh no. Conservation only applies to deer and turkey, you know, animals that we like to hunt.

Ive never seen or captured game pics of a 500 pounder. Most of our bears in lower Vermilion look to be 200 to 250. Regardless, they will tear up a tripod corn barrel feeder.

So bears were here before us, native animals etc.-so what.Times have changed, let them have bears in the wilderness-we don’t need them.Buffalos(bison) were in Louisiana also at one time,I don’t see anyone wanting to re-establish them. They’re big dumb animals that would be on the highways, interstate, railroads tracks wreaking havoc, getting people killed.

Not being able to kill deer conveniently on your little piece of property is a lazy and ridiculous excuse not to encourage your grandkids to hunt

it ain't the bears fault
