I've seen a couple here and there around the Boutte exit heading into Metairie... but yesterday we spotted one landing one a branch in a recent area that had been cleared of the underbrush. Odd thing is it was on Perkins Road, right before the shopping center area/Alexander's Marketplace.

There's a mating pair in a tree on the WBR levee between rosedale rd and the old bridge... just drive north on river road and look right next to an old cane field

Massive nest with new borns for the last 2 years

They really are, an amazing comeback story. I remember when my oldest daughter was a teenager, we were out in my back yard when they were first making their comeback in our area and one flew over. He was just flying in a straight line about 100 feet high. I said :look! it's a bald eagle! we watched it and she looked at me and said " that's kind of a goofy looking bird" Just for a minute I thought, this child is not of my loins.

The first one I ever saw was in my neighbor's yard, just off of the LSU lakes. This was back in the late 80's so it was completely unexpected and pretty awesome.

Now I've had a pair nesting not far from my house (Florida) for the last 5 years. I see one pretty much every day. There are places within a few miles where seeing multiple Bald Eagles is pretty much guaranteed.

Saw one a couple days ago, carrying what looked like 20 feet of rope behind it. It was flying to its nest at mile marker 217 on Bonne Carre spillway. They are magnificent.

Yeah pretty cool. Used to go years without seeing one. Now it’s odd if I don’t see one in a month or so.

Went to Alaska a few months back, they are like mockingbirds up there. They are everywhere.

At first they were cool to see around.. now they are common and I’ve come to realize they are half buzzard half hawk. They eat dead animals which is ok by me but I don’t like them eating the squirrels and rabbits small deer and fish. I like killing those myself

Yep. Cool video, but trust me you want to mute the sound.

A couple years ago on Hwy 308 by Valentine, I saw three of them rooting around in cane stubble. They were only about 100 feet off the shoulder of the road. First time I saw multiple birds in such a small area.

Beautiful to see them flying and especially fishing, but really though, when they fly right over you, real low and you get to get a good look at them, their beak really looks a bit cartoonish. They have an angle that is a bit different from hawks.

Yep.

Had a large number in Fritz Cove yesterday after herring Humpback whales and Sea lions were feeding. Orcas come in and slaughter a couple of sea lions, eagles feed on the herring. It was very cool to see. One of the eagles damn near got swallowed by a whale.

Saw one last Saturday between Bourg and Golden Meadow. Seeing them thrive now never gets old.

I was seeing one flying around Central (Greenwell Springs, just north of Baton Rouge for those that aren't familiar) but haven't seen one in Central for a bunch of years now.

I live very NW corner in Kenner. Right off the lake and right off the swamp. I haven’t seen a bald eagle since at least May or June. I’m not sure why. Usually if I’m sitting outside I’d be sure to see one flying overhead.

Lot of hawks always in the area since June but haven’t seen an eagle since spring time.

On Poverty Pt Lake, on the way to work, I saw a pair in a tree and about a mile away another one in a tree.
Biologists say there are 3 mating pairs on Bayou Macon near the lake.
We saw one yesterday. There is a large nest right behind the John Deere store on Hwy 17. It’s been there several years now. We could see a head sticking out of it yesterday.Pretty cool
