Dang, well hopefully it hatches soon!

Curious if anybody knows, where is the male during the night? They don’t sleep in the same nest?

ETA, Google telling me they sleep on branches next to the nest and not in the actual nest, that’s only when they incubate the eggs/babies

There are two large active nests on I-10 over the Bonne Carre. One is the big one in a large tree at the 310 split and the other is about 2 miles east (towards BR) in a small tree just above the RR track.

You can see 5-6 bald eagles anytime you pass the area right now. Eaglets are pretty big so they’ll be migrating north’s again soon.

I could see activity in that one when I passed it yesterday evening.

I think that one has been there for a few years now, correct?

Also, I remember there being one around there on the lake side of I-10 in tree that was all by itself. I think the tree is gone now.

a very long time. i passed it thursday on the way to MSY and there were two eagles in it.

there was another one that blew down in one of the storms, i think i remember that LDWF attempted to rebuild it in another tree, i'm not sure whether it was evemtiually used or not.

if yall want to see bald eagles in LA go take a ride down to the wax lake delta during duck season

There is a nest on the batture right across from the Dow Truck entrance in Hahnville and there are 2 more between there and my house;~4 miles from the plant. I see one pair regularly flying over my house off of River Road.

I hope that little one in the Kisatchie E-3 nest makes it, the sibling seems to be growing mighty fast.

Yeah, I did not notice the size difference until recently. I hope to get out there soon. I keep seeing crappie brought to the nest, so it's time

Overnight it looked and sounded like a hurricane. That tree and nest were rocking and rolling.

The larger one has become openly aggressive towards the little one when food appears. Lots of controversy in the chat

At 3:00pm Central time today the dominant eaglet attacked the lesser chick one more and apparently final time. You are watching a sibling murder on live video.

I may have spoken too soon. The little chick has finally gotten it's head up again but it is only a matter of time. It laid there prostrate and unmoving for about 45 minutes before getting it's head up again. bigger one did it's best to tear the throat out of the little one while holding it's head in his claws. No way will the bigger one let the little one survive. Between denial of food and physical abuse it appears to be almost over.

No fish today. The conditions remain terrible for fish catching. maybe a gizzard shad will float up.
