Where is a good place in La. with some ATV trails to take the kids to ride?

Googled some places, but would rather have first hand accounts from others.

Kisatchie NF

Sandstone unit, Claiborne unit, etc. do some digging on their websites. They aren't all open year-round and have been closed at times recently from hurricane damage but when they're open, really cool, scenic, lot of topography (for LA), etc.

Used to ride trails in Kisatchie National Forest back in the day. The Red Dirt section of it outside of Natchitoches. The Lotus Camp trail was a I think a 32 mile round trip. Was a great way to spend an entire day.

Has anyone been there lately? We used to go all the time like 20 years ago. Loved it there. We all have sxs now. Was wondering if we could go with them. They use to have like a 50inch max or something like that.

Yes they still have the 50" rule. Most of the bridges are big enough to equip 60" machines. Last time I went i put my stock wheels back on and was at 52.5" ranger didn't measure me. I did see him measure a guy and he was at 60" wouldnt let him go out there. They also enforce the 1" knob on your tires rule. They dont want people tearing up the trails with bkts

Are those trails steep from what you recall?

I hunt up there but haven’t taken my bike.

Would like to maybe take my kids but I don’t care for big hills and four wheelers personally.
