Hunting big branch and it’s quiet as shite. Usually hear a lot more shooting. There is nothing flying today.

Hows the water level? I went on Wednesday and couldn’t even paddle into the pond I wanted to hunt. Just mud.

It’s good. Little higher than normal where I am.

Drove across the bonnet carre on I10 yesterday and there is a 10-20 yards of beach exposed on the lake shore. I don’t know what this means for the marsh but the lake is obviously down a good bit.

I thought the pressure was bad when I use to hunt it. Went Wed. for the first time in years and quickly got reminded why I quit duck hunting public. My buddy got to the launch st 3:40 and there was already two trucks with cold hoods.

Got to where we wanted to go and of course both boats were there. One still unloading and the guy commences to half tell half bitch at us how his grandfather was hunting here in 65 before it was public yadda yadda.

In my younger days I would have called his BS out considering that spot wasn't there until the corp pumped it in the early 2000s.

That place would benefit if it was ran like south farm. Its such a small area it gets shot out quickly.

It’s always been slow out here since we started hunting it about 6 years ago but enough action to keep it better than staying home. But today absolutely sucks. I still like coming out but we have not seen one single duck to even try to call.

Yup. I got to the launch at 4:20 and was the 7th truck.... I should have just gone back home.

Last year it wasn’t terrible but I won’t be trying too much if it stays like that.

There is a lot of shooting in the Bayou Savauge/Chef Pass area. Take a kid hunting in the refuge...

Wind has been blowing from the north all week pretty damn hard, pushing all that water out of the marsh.

I see at least a thousand teal fly over my house every evening headed north towards the lake. Live near bonnabel and west esplanade.

Checking in from the south Delta in MS and no ducks on my millet ponds. I saw a group fly in the late afternoon but not one while hunting.

I was there. I ended up crawling across a hundred yards or so of mud to get to some water. Ended up with 3. Yesterday water was much higher but didn’t see a duck. eta. I’m hunting east of bayou Lacombe. May try to go further west in the second split since that seems to be where all the shooting has been.

I was east of Bayou Lacombe as well. I wanted to try to do something similar but I only had an hour or so before I had to head back for work. Ended up setting up along the canal in hopes of some woody action. Saw one...

Hopefully we get some good fronts over the next 2 weeks but looking ahead in the forecast it looks pretty grim...
