Where do you get all of your supplies, preferably not in bulk?

Plastic was from MF manufacturing. Most other stuff was from Bear's Baits. Salt was ordered from Cargil. I don't remember where the bags came from, maybe lurecraft.

that's not bad, I've kicked around this idea but I may have to look into it. I'm currently paying around $0.30/per for the stuff I'm using.

What molds where you using?

Yeah I would do it under my back patio.

That is how I started. I had 1 gallon of plastic, a 4 cavity senko mold and a few colors. I would drink beer and pour baits every afternoon. About dark my wife would stick her head out of the door and say, "ok alchy time to come in." A few years later I started Alchi Baits.

No, not yet anyway. I'm using a store-bought plastic for my spinnerbaits but have always kicked around the idea of doing my own.

I'll check them out, what were you doing for your colored tail section? Pouring separate colors or just dipping the tail?

I started by just pouring the color in the mold a little bit then would cut to size. Eventually, I had Bob make me an injection mold with 10 tail cavities.

When I was at PAC I bought a pack of Overcast Soft Plastics and really liked them. The problem is it's like 4 or 5 for $6. That's more than Gulp. I'd like to start recycling to begin with then move on to makimg my own.

You got fancy molds.
I have the old simple one sided mold that your pour one at a time.
I get coke or beer can.
Cut 1/2 and make a little lip to make pouring easy, and attach a wooden dowel.
Heat up outside of Coleman stove and pour.
When done chunk can.

I get my plastic from MF and zeiners if they are still around.

One mold I love I have 3 of them with 3- 1-1/2 Shad paddle tails each mold. I put some glitter in the clear and green just some red glitter and light salt.

The scaliat at old river and bass in the Brec ponds go ape blank for it.

The Pyrex allowed m to measure. If it was a small order I would cook 4oz. Of plastic.

That’s absolutely stupid, is he pouring them himself or just buying in bulk from China?

I think he's making them himself. I want to say he's from Gonzalez. I think it's 4 for $6.

Meh, get some matrix baw. 1/10 the price and will do the same.

He’s catering to the $11 popping cork crowd with those.

If I was big into it Pyrex and an old
Microwave outside would be a good way to go.

I just pour a few once in a blue moon and when I get ready to catch scaliat at Old river. The paddle tail rides down the brush waving and it drives scaliat out of the brush.

Now if you did 1-1/2 inch paddle tails for scaliat that would be awesome.

I’ve developped some sort of irrational hatred when I see one guy or another pushing the latest and greatest in the popping cork game. It’s a damn popping cork baw, get that shite out of here.

These kids were already making injected soft baits in the early 90s!

Creepy Crawlers began in the 60s. I was 4 or 5 when I got mine for Christmas. It's probably against the law to give a kid that age a toy that heats up to 400 degrees in today's world. The Thing Maker in the pic is basically a hot plate and to prevent burning your hands. You picked up the molds with the wire handle thing
