Anyone have any idea what might have happened to mullets?

I live on the Diversion canal (20 years now) and we always had large schools of mullet in the fall. I have noticed the past couple of years they stopped. Does anyone have any idea why this might have happened? Would the closing of MRGO have impacted the mullet? The opening of the Bonnie Carrie spillway? Anyone have other ideas?

They fell out of favor after the early ‘90’s.

Why the popcorn? Is this something that is in the works? I’ve heard a few people bring the subject up recently.

St Bernard government submitted a permit app, amended to an emergency request to remove a section of it...

No shortage of mullets in Lake Pontchartrain after they open the spillway. They have a big algae bloom and mullets everywhere.

In October i used to be able to look out from my porch and count 30-40 schools at a given time, now there are none

They're making a pretty solid come back amongst the younger baws.
