Anybody have a Gheenoe?

How do you like it if so? I'd really like one for the flats when I go to Florida and some of the creeks here in Missisissippi. The super 16 looks like a mean machine if I can find a good used one. 10-11K for a new one that's decked out is too steep for me, but I've been keeping my eyes peeled for a used one

Some guys put a ton of work into them and they look great, I have no idea how they perform.

One of my buddies has one. Fished in it several times. Floats in a puddle of water, literally. Easy to paddle. Super stable, he has one of the small ones and we could stand in it and fish. I've been wanting one for a few years.
Good luck finding a used one. All the used ones I've found were the 13' model, at least 15 years old and all wanted almost new prices on them.

I got one for my 7th birthday and still have it to this day. I'm 41 and other than some glass work on seats and transom it's good. I have the 13'. If you want to flip it you are going to have to put out the effort.

15'4" low side. Great for my solo duck hunts. Does fine with 1 other person, but the speed is better solo. I rebuilt it last summer and I am going on my second season with it. I can get anywhere I want to paddle or push it through. It will be wet with any chop, but it can handle more than most would think.

I thought I would chime in that a super 16 used will be hard to find. I'm not sure how popular that particular boat is. I think most guys get the LT 25 instead of the 16. River hawk is a similar boat to the gheenoe as well.
To find used ones there is a Facebook group called gheenoeholics, the forum section of custom gheenoe and of course Microskiff. Post what your looking for on those and you might luck out.
I've been in a classic and liked it. Very stable. If there is a downside you will be soaked on a choppy day. At least I was. I see a decent amount of classics, 13 footers, and Highsiders for sale on the used market.
Can't you get a classic new hull for around $3500 or so. I've been looking for a while at used and might need to go new when I get serious about buying one. Used ones do come up on the aforementioned forums. Most of the used ones are in Florida.

My neighbor has one with a 25 Merc on it. Looks like it would be good for fishing the marsh for reds or fresh water canals and bayous. Never been in it though.

I have a classic. It's a great boat for what it is. Runs and floats super shallow and very stable for it's size. Mine will run 30 with 2 people and gear. It's very easy to pole as long as it's not windy.

Is that what they call it as it flashes by?

Cheaper. I didn't get many options on mine because I was trying to keep cost and weight down. Just had them remove the center bench and turn it into a center storage box, and another small thing or two. I paid $3300 for hull and trailer which includes a $150 delivery fee.

Got a 13' for $60 and put a new transom in it. Cool little boats.

reds on reds, did you buy from a dealer or go to Florida to get it?
Btw, I have seen your boat on here before and like it a lot. Nice little rig. Sounds like it flies with the 25 on it. You like that Suzuki?

I ordered it through Graves Gheenoe which is in Hattiesburg. It's just this ladies house but I paid $150 delivery fee and didn't have to drive 10 hours to Titusville to get it. And I love the little Suzuki so far. Has a ton of power for such a small motor. I have some videos of the boat running if you want to see.

Did they have inventory on hand? Just looked them up and that's five minutes from my house

They had a couple boats there but I'm not sure if they were being held for people or not. I'd give Clyde Graves a call and ask him. He's who I dealt with.

Sure if you get a chance. I have been enamored with these little boats for a while. I have ridden in a classic, but I think the guy had a 15hp on it. I'm sure the 25 gives it a nice little kick.
