Bapple has one. They are great guns. I shot the FNS 40 when it came out and I liked it. I have shot the five seven extensively and think it is a fun gun (I only prefer it as a range toy).

Carson pretty much nailed it. I bought my FNS9 a few weeks ago since I was always enamored by it. It is quite underrated. The only thing I changed was adding Talon Grips to the grip since it felt like a cheese grater.

I'm taking a shooting course with it next weekend and will be doing a review on it some time in the future. I expect it to be pretty positive because I really love the gun.

I'm a pretty big fan. I bought an FNP40 about 8 years ago and up til two weeks ago I carried it with me daily. I recently bought the FNS9c which is their compact version. I now carry it daily. Love both of my FNH pistols. Wish they got more love down here.

I will never own a handgun with an external safety aside from a 1911.

You can get the model I bought with or without the extra safety. Law enforcement has to have it and it's my understanding that FN is a choice of some of them.

Appreciate the feedback from all

I have the FNS option with no safety. I agree with you that I prefer my polymer handguns with no safety.

Got talked into buying one, best gun purchase I've made. I have the x with da/sa, it's a little larger than I'd like but it shoots like a charm. Makes novice shooters look good. Can't say enough good things about them.

the five-seven is about as much fun as you can have with a handgun

I've had one for over a year and never shot it.

I just ordered a 556 and 22 suppressor, any reason why the 556 wouldn't shoot on the five seven?

diameter of the FN round is 5.7mm
diameter of the nato round is 5.56mm
so no, I wouldn't try it

It actually isn't. I'm not sure why FN named it the FiveseveN (maybe so they could capitalize the first and last letters) but it's actually a 5.56mm bullet. I've heard it's a bitch to reload and is a very temperamental round though.

It's actually originally designed for the FN P90 and is a lot less effective out of a handgun. While fun to shoot, the large muzzle flash is a sign that you aren't getting effective powder burn and wasting energy with the short barrel.

I thought both shot a .224 bullet? I may be wrong seeing as I'm far from an expert.

I reload 0.224" FMJ bullets for 0.223 for my AR.

Maybe someone with more expertise can explain this to me, but using the millimeters to inches conversion on Google yields:

5.56mm = 0.2189"
5.7mm = 0.2756"

And I have read reloading forums where people have used 0.223"-0.224" Hornady Vmax bullets in 5.7x28mm cases. I'm pretty sure the diameters are identical, whatever diameter that may be.
