Little dude acted like the baddest cobra ever. Couldn't get him to play dead though. Still can bring myself to pick one up though.

I have ran across a few hognose and never had any luck with getting one to play dead. They are cool snakes.

I've seen one, and he did the whole show, writhing around, flipping over and letting his tongue hang out. I flipped him upright, and he promptly flipped back over. Guess he thought he looked more dead that way.

Couple weeks ago, one swam right up to my boat while I was fishing the dam at Toledo. Eventually continued on toward La. The lake is wide right there. Too dumb to realize he could have just slithered along the dam I guess.
