Marlin offers the old chamberings due to the "silly American" and "northern comments" you have been making. Gun guys are finicky. They like what they like. Marlin seems to have learned a lesson and stuck with what the public knows. That's just my opinion anyway.

I would actually love to have a .327 mag. Would be a great gun for my kids and wife to shoot.

Downshift, have you ever looked at the .264 win mag?

Also, I know a guy that uses his 6.5x55 swede for elk.

I agree. I really tried to buy one for my daughter, but in the end I ended up w/ a lightweight 5 shot 38 Special; the lack of ammo and guns chased me away from the 327 Mag.

Those crazy Europeans use the swede for all kinds of big stuff. It penetrates so well that they can easily get away with it. It's mediocre at best on paper but is just very well suited for killing stuff.

I'm somewhat familiar with the .264 win mag. If I were to get a belted magnum that would be it.

I've seen 327 every time I go to Cabelas. That's about all they have. And 45LC and 10mm

They always have whatever kind that comes in those clear plastic boxes.

It must be terrible stuff because I used to never be sold out in any caliber.

Another caliber you won't see on a gun rack too often: .30-40 krag

That's what it was. Didn't look at price. May be high.

Unfortunately, for me the closest Cabela's is in Dallas.

Didn't you hear that they were obsolete in all factors?

I got a ton of ammo from my wife's grandpaw. He had a couple boxes of 25-20 Winchester. I had to look it up. It's an old arse varmint/trapping caliber.

I just don't know anybody that has one or even see ammo in stores.
