What time of the day are you baiting these hooks? The later in the day you wait to bait them, the less bream will pick them clean. Go down to a #1 hook. Not 1/0, #1. The smaller hooks catch better. I have a friend who fishes commercially, and swears by 1" square pieces of skipjack on #1 hooks.

It's not that big and I've used all kinds of bait. Cut bait and shiners mainly.

Set your line at a angle with a weight at the other end

Update:
Thanks for the suggestions everyone. Finally found my spot. Used cut bait on my new trot line and had 2 bigguns on it this morning. Can't express how freakin happy I was after a month of diddly squat. Will post pics later, but prob won't be as nice as the "rate this hoist" thread from today.

Catching catfish on trotlines or jugs isn't science. They're not picky eaters and once you find out what they bite in one area you're pretty much set. Just keep at it. Once you find em, it'll be on.
if you in right spot..... i still like live bream or cut mullet.. although... if gars are active....they bite first.

Yessir, great advice, yaking over there is much better too.
Haven't tried live bream but I'll give it a shot. I can pluck those little guys out of the neighborhood pond pretty easy.

Crab traps work well to catch bream. Goldfish=

I frigging love this board. Especially, getting the chance to watch someone's plan come to fruition after a little "coaching" from those more experienced.
My first experience with this was watching Polar Pop trek out to Ft Morgan in search of his first redfish.
Good. Stuff.
