This is a 6 gallon aluminum fish fryer I just finished for a Christmas present. This is the first fryer I’ve built. Any comments or suggestions for improvements?

You are a very good welder. I would have gone with stainless. Stainless Is so much easier to clean, especially with harsh chemicals. Looks really good though very clean cuts and bends. You are a very talented metal worker. Congrats.

Well... we'd need an OB gtg & fish fry to determine.

I built several when I was running fab shop. Drop your thermometer down to just above the burner flue. Also add air shutter on burner to adjust air fuel mix. Otherwise it looks damn sweet. I have prototype 1, guys went to store and pulled dimensions. Flue is pipe, too deep and made from 316SS. Thing is heavy.

Good welding- you really stacked those dimes

Like those handles, termometer is too high, drain is too small. I have 2 RV’s (4&6) and cleaning them sucks because the drain gets clogged with corn meal.

It appears the thermometer probe goes in pretty deep. If not, you may want to get a longer probe or lower the location on the next one. The drain size seems a little small... looks like it reduces down to 1"? Other than that it's really nice!
ETA - how much do you charge for this?

My 4g RV fryer does as well. I am going to get an aluminum one from them and see if they will put a bigger drain on it for me.
Also I am going to see if they will put 2 more wheels that lock so it’s easier to move around.
Looks good OP

Looks like overkill for a fryer but damn I want one. Good job on it.

Yeah, the thermometer stem is curved and about 12” long so it goes down near the burner flue. It’s a 3/4” valve.

Man the only thing I'd like to see different is the temp gauge being lowered to your frying height. And maybe a shelf off that other side. Can never have enough shelf space. Excellent craftsmanship.
eta: got a friend who has a hi-freq machine and I can fabricate. Reckon 1/2 a sheet of 1/8"thk would be enough to build a 2 gallon?
