As per today's announcement, all public ranges under LDWF Control will be closed as of 5pm Monday evening. Since shooting ranges aren't deemed "essential" businesses I'd have to assume that private ranges will be closed as of that same day and time as well.

Nothing official on the LDWF website yet but I'll post it when I see it.

Wonder if they will close campgrounds as well. Been on the fence about the turkey lottery hunt the first weekend of April with all of this crap going on, but that would make the decision for me if they do.

I know my local range was unsure as of today, as compared to "definitely closing". Saw people coming in and buying ammo, as well as handguns. We went and shot some.

I was doing an inventory of ammo, and found some old stash that the cat apparently pissed on long ago. Discolored the brass. I buffed off the green and shot it all, it ran ok. Smelled funny , but it was Aguila, which does anyway.

I asked the right person... and he was not sure at this point but he said if he had to guess WMA's would remain open but campgrounds my be restricted.

glad I live somewhere that affords me the luxury of rattling off a few (hundred) rounds if I so choose.

Need to go shoot my 15-22. Might have to see how long it takes Ruston PD to come get me for discharging it in my backyard. I feel like I need a little practice. Heck, I think it's essential that I get this practice in.

Need to find out where I could shoot some coons and possums legally. Want to do some squirrel hunting in May.
