My sister got an English Cream about a year ago and paid $1800. Seems to be about how much they are going for.

My dad has a Hunnington Golden and she is going on 12 years now. She almost died about 4 years back from a tumor but they were able to remove it and she has been fine ever since. She’s been a great dog.
That being said, I wouldn’t buy a dog from Hunnington. As some others have said, they have a lot of behavioral and health issues which I’ve witnessed with several dogs that I know came from there.

I got my dog from a family that bred their two pets in Georgia. Paid $700 and she’s IMO one of the best looking and friendliest goldens I’ve ever been around. Don’t go dropping stacks on a house pet.

Our pups look a lot like. Mine was a cross between a redder coat hunting line sire and an English cream female. I'll post a pic this evening so OP can see. He came with good medical clearances and was not as expensive as some of the other breeders listed (around $1k).

I have been having the itch for another golden for a while now. My previous dog was a red golden. I had her for 14 years. Do you know of any breeders that specialize in red golden retrievers?

Just be very very careful the more creme colored you go, that takes particular breeding and can lead to bad traits as the only trait that's bred for is color.

Yes Creme color is way more expensive.

I paid $300 for my 6 year old Golden outside of Nashville, she's just a house dog but retrieves and listens extremely well. The parents were registered but I never spent the time to register ours'.

The red/darker colors are usually indicative of field lines, with a few exceptions. Field bred dogs also typically have shorter hair and shed less.

There are obviously exceptions to that rule. There’s a small time breeder out of Lafayette that produces some darker colored dogs that don’t necessarily require the work and time that a true field bred dog does.

Enjoy the Golden. I had to put down my 14 year old Golden Retriever in June. Best dog I ever had. Great with kids, very intelligent, great natured dog. Great choice.

My golden passed away 2 weeks ago. We got her from Huntington farms and she lived to be 14 years old . I could not ask for a better dog for my kids. Looking at these pics makes me want to get another one soon.

My fiancée got Nelson from Triple L in Many, LA and he’s an excellent pup. He was a year old when I met him and let’s just say he needed a masculine role model and disciplinarian in his life.

But after working with him and teaching him that I’m his master he is an excellent dog. I walk him around the neighborhood off leash most of the time and he doesn’t have an aggressive bone in his body.

We bought ours from a breeder on Facebook for $450. We were looking for a family pet so we weren't really concerned with the dog being registered. The dog is 4 years old and very patient with our kids, especially my 4 year old. My only complaint is that this dog can chew through any dog toy.
