Also, stores are having trouble getting employees to show up for work. In some codes, with the Trump checks and unemployment stimulus it pays more to quit.

McDonald’s can find staff to drop fries and flip burgers academy can’t? frick that. No reason for that store to be in the condition it’s in.

Is Academy the only choice you have? I can’t imagine that being the only place to buy tackle.

Seriously consider no longer shopping at academy after they changed their return policy. You can find much better deals at tacklewarehouse, Sportsman outfitters, and other online tackle stores.

Try Marshland Sports in Ponchatoula. Plenty of baits, hooks and other gear...some rods but not a lot the last time I was there. It's a small shop run by a nice, older gentleman...i.e. retired fisherman. I believe he does rod repairs there also.

Bring cash...he's not into that new fangled credit/debit card stuff.

Stopped at buckdinbows for lil jons two weeks ago just to avoid academy. They had a surprising selection of inshore tackle and competitive prices.

Yeah I bought a trolling motor from them last week. Went home to put it on the boat and it had obviously been used. So within twenty minutes we went back to return it, had to wait in the long line with everyone else and they were trying to tell us we couldnt return something within 24 hours. Obviously I could have heard wrong, but that makes no sense. I just told them very politely but sternly that I did not want a used trolling motor that costs hundreds of dollars and the manager reluctantly let me return it. I am not sure what the return policy is but it sure is a lot less frendly than it used to be.
