Just a tip, I put a shelf the entire length of mine to store shite on. And put plenty of screws in all the walls to hang back packs, binoculars, jackets, etc on.

4x8 vs 6x6 box stand

Depends on how well your kids like each other. When I take 2 of mine at a time, sometimes a 18x80 single-wide trailer isn't big enough to keep them separated.

Just put carpet down to soften the noise when they drop something every 4 minutes. Take their shoes off when they get in and they won't kick the wall as much. Unwrap poptarts at home and put in ziplocks so they don't make as much noise. Don't bring canned drinks or they'll spill them. Bring 3x as much food as you think you need and 1/3 the drinks (to keep from having to undress them to pee every 5 minutes).

4x6 stands this year. They're just righ
It is all the size of the chairs you put in, but I can put my two and me in a 4x5. They sit on a bench in front of me. 4x6 would be better.

They are 6 and 8. In a couple of years the 4x5 will not work.

I bought one of those cheap platform stands from Academy last year. I love hunting out of that thing with my boy. It comes with a bench seat that is comfortable. And your kid can just lean up on you if the get cold.

i would go 4x8 personally. a 6x6 would be tough to see over the rails if you were sitting in the middle of the stand...just my thoughts

Good idea. I didn't put a roof on it and the wall only goes up about 4'. I'm going to go up another 5' and put a roof up. After that, I'll add a shelf.

Drew it up in cad and started pricing it out... damn thing was up to $500 without a roof, windows or door. Just going to put up a 4x4 with no top to get by this season. Have another 4x4 fully enclosed that was already on the property. I will just move this one once the big one is built some time next year.

After building several different sizes, we did some handicapped children hunts and found that 6x8 to be almost the perfect size for ease of movement, a place for a sleeping bag for those kids (or dads) to stretch out and take a nap, without restricting the other hunters. My 2 cents

Also thinking of using pressure treated fence boards for siding so I don’t have to paint

I use Coroplast for the sides, last forever and you can get it in any color and comes 4x8, easy to cut

added, built this one this year 4x6
