Ex Mow-in-Lough has a shite-ton of pecans on property btw Boyce and Colfax. Never ending source of free wood.

the pecan is good for cooking. tends to pop a bit much as firewood, so you better have a good screen. also attracts sawyers(beetle larvae) pretty bad, so you will have sawdust errywhere you stack it.

Tree removal is difficult, dangerous and physical.
Granted they get to use ropes, saws, big trucks and wood chippers. The dangers outweigh the fun factor and it gets expensive.

i think you mean general liability policy

Part of a policy may have workman's compensation...it may not. It will explicitly say Workman's Compensation and then list an amount of coverage. I deal with this type of issue all the time. Call your insurance provider and let them tell you about how much risk you are incurring upon yourself by hiring someone who doesn't have WC in their insurance.

If the going rate of removing any tree is $4500 I'll tell my tree guy he needs to expand his operation in your area. I'll give him $50,000 to help set up shop.

Get some more quotes, several more. Dont let them know what the other one bid on it. Someone will do that tree for less than half that. Work with them if theyre a litte high still and tell them you only can spend 2k.
