Magic bullets, SMH.....
There's always that one guy at the camp that still doesn't understand.
The bullet starts dropping the instant it leaves the barrel.

I guessing he used the wrong term. Bullets do have an upward trajectory when it leaves the muzzle as it relates to the Scope plane.

ETA: Bullets sure don't have wings and rise up

It's something that can get you close but nothing can substitute actually shooting it at 100

Go shoot it at distances other than just 25 yds so you'll KNOW where it hits. There are a gazillion trajectory tables on the 'net and they are good as a general guide, but they're NOT the final word. Knowing one's gun is a basic responsibilty of hunting.

It does go up, but it goes up because the barrel is pointing up.

I dont think he implied otherwise. I read it as zeroed at 100 yards, he will be 5" high at some point before then.

Thanks for the help. The chart was what I was looking for. Haven't shot it since before last season and just wanted a quick check to make sure it was still on.

Correct from the line of departure, from the line of site is what I was referring to as that is what is adjusted when sighting in .. I will use better terminology next time for all professionals..

three are a few things that could change that equation like what load and scope mounts.

Bullet weight, velocity and scope/sight height-above-bore are the biggest factors.

Here's the ballistics calculator that I've always used. Ballistics Calculator

You should still shoot it at 100 yards, if you can.
