I've known her ever since we were little. Was never close with her but saw her weekly around town for work and other stuff. Also knew her bil from other stuff.

My understanding was they weren’t on the main channel where a lot of current would be

Bad, bad, bad. One of the adults is a friend of mine's daughter. All were experienced outdoors people. Have not heard the details yet. My friend was also in the boat but survived.

Looks like it was on the Buffalo

quote:

The Adams County Sheriff's Office says they received the first calls around 6:30 Sunday morning about a possible drowning on the Buffalo River in the Fort Adams area. The Wilkinson County Sheriff's Office took the lead on the investigation. Deputies say four people were getting off of one boat into a second boat being utilized as a duck blind on the river when the second boat capsized. One of the hunters got out safely and has been assessed by medics. Search and recovery efforts found the bodies of a man, his sister-in-law, her child, and a dog that are believed to have gotten trapped under the boat and blind. The bodies were recovered at around 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon, according to Woodville Police Chief Jessie Stewart. Officials say the blind was in an area of the river that's about 7 feet deep, and approximate the temperature of the water to be about 49 degrees Sunday morning. It is unknown whether they had on life jackets.

There were five missing. Three are dead. One was the son of ... Edited in case there is a policy against releasing names or descriptions.

It's a man, woman and child, though.

Where are you getting 5 hunters from, the story says 4, do you know something else?

quote:

According to the Wilkinson County Sheriff's Office, around 6:30 a.m., a group of four hunters were using two boats: a fishing boat and a pontoon boat. The pontoon boat was being utilized as a duck blind.

Not sure if they sold the houses, but they built at the end of my parents street in high school.

The woman was 35 or 36. A year younger than me.

From what I was told. 7 were there. 4 got off to get on the boat. The boat/blond flips and 1 got out. The spouses of the deceased were there and tried to flip it back over.
