Savage A22. Semi auto .22 mag. I have killed a few hogs with it. Including my biggest with a heart/lung shot

With a .22lr its about the equivalent of shooting a deer with a howitzer. Even with fmj they often look like you smashed their head with a hammer.

FWIW I have a .22lr bolt action Marlin rifle that’s at least 50 years old and has probably never been cleaned and it shoots flawlessly.

I should clean it.

Probably killed 40-50 only had to shoot 1 twice

If you want to find the pig get at least a .223 man. I wouldn’t shoot a pig with a .22 or a .17 and expect to find it.

dont shoot anything at 100 yds with either a 22mag or a 17

a hog in 40 and a head shot is no problem a small one in the vitals is also a goner.

Isnt there some larger rimfire .22 cartridge out there? .22 hornet maybe?
