I drove one, they are nice. They are out of my price range, but they are nice. Buddy.
Little Turbo - 4 Cylinder.
If your okay shelling out 50k roughly go pick one up.
I cant afford to buy a new vehicle right now. I am saving for my wife.

4 cyl engines were not designed to pull trailers.
It’s hard enough on the 6 cyl Tacomas.

Way, way cheaper, but not better.

I know someone with a 2024 Tacoma and someone else with a 2025 4 Runner. Both with are 4x4 with the i-4
One pulls an 18' boat with a 115 and the other pulls a 20' pontoon with a 115 on it. Neither one has had any issues with them.

The only issue being the rpms never getting below 3,000 and the boost staying maxed out dropping the mpg down to 8-9 while towing those yachts?
Posted on 8/1/26 at 8:58 am to bayouteche
144 miles to the tank @8mpg towing, that’s a lot of fill ups past a 50 mile trip.

I have a 4 cylinder 2000 extended cab Tacoma with 4wheel drive . It has 365,000 miles and still running strong . Only bad thing is the dang lock in hubs ...

So they are pulling 3k max? Not impressive at ALL.

Have a 2019 Tacoma with 215,000 on it. Nothing but maintenance to this point. Have a Ranger 188 with a 115 that I pull with it, but I would hate to have to pull that boat long distances. I can feel the little truck lugging on hills.
