Either get the 4.25" Prodigy or wait for Kimber to drop the 4.25 Warrior. I have watched a lot of reviews of the Warrior from some of the pickiest reviewers and they have nothing but great things to say about it.

Springfield Armory Echelon
Solid grab for the money my friend especially for your first handgun. I sold mine because I shoot my hammer fired 9s twice as much as my striker fired ones.

Hammer fired. Those are the 1911 style handguns, right? I like the look of those too. I was originally looking at one of the new XD Mod.4 9mm, but they didn't have any ither the GearPac bundles so I opted for the Echelon. The only thing I don't like about it so far is that the only safety on it is that double trigger. That feels kind of worthless to me, I can't picture a scenario where that would make any difference in firing it or not. I'm OK with it not having an active thumb safety, but I'd be more comfortable if it had a grip safety like the Mod.4

Yep, but there's a million more hammer fired pistols that aren't 1911s. You made a much better choice with the Echelon over the XD IMO. The XDs were somewhat the striker fired 1911s with the grip angle and grip safety long ago and still to this day.

I was the same way with needing a manual safety on my first two pistol purchases. Then I bought the OG VP9 and all of that went out of the window. You'll get more comfortable with the pistol the more you shoot and handle it.

Thought it was a pretty good deal. It's my first handgun. I'll meet up with some friends at the range next weekend to put some rounds through it.

The echelon is a great platform. Honest outlaw beat the absolute piss out of one and it keep going.
