wife’s 2012 wrangler has 300K plus on it I have a standing offer from dealer for a healthy trade any time I want. The pentastar is a fantastic engine

Like anything, depends what you use it for. For around the camp/ deer lease, general sxs use, I think that’s a great deal and perfect for that use. For mud riding/ duck hunting, they are too heavy for most of that application. They also have fewer aftermarket products compared to can am or Polaris.

Definitely agree. If I still duck hunted there's no way I'd have gone with the fxt 1000. It's great for riding around with the family on my property, going to the deer stand, and loading up a deer after the hunt. Don't think it would do very well in the flooded fields/timber where I used to take my 4 wheeler years ago.

Not much in aftermarket accessories for sure. I looked at can-am but went with the mule because it is so convenient to swap from 4 to 2 person cab. Takes a minute to fold in the rear seat and then you have a full size bed again.

I iinstalled an led lightbar and pods, factory lighting is not the best. Ordered rocker switches/lights from Amazon and install was pretty simple. One pod looks down into the bed, and I've got three on the rear bumper that function as reverse lights. The size of this thing makes it difficult to see when backing up, particularly in the dark.

A bit off topic, Kawasaki gave all affected owners of the recall a $500 oem accessory credit. I've already installed mirrors and lights, what are some things that y'all have on your side by sides that you would recommend?

A winch is a no brainer if kawa offers one.

A rear roof rack to mount a winch over the bed is on my list at some point. Seems like it would come in handy not just loading deer but being able to lift implements while planting, like a drag.

Buddy has a front winch and rear winch. His reasoning for the rear? When you get stuck, you usually are trying to get out. Not other way around. It’s actually pretty useful. He also uses both of these to secure to trailer during transport. Certainly not a need, but a nice to have

At one time, Mules were known as being reliable, solid/sturdy, but slow. I'd check on the top speed, if that is important to you. If you ever go trail riding you'll want something that nears 60mph, as sometimes you'll have to park a decent distance from the trailhead and ride the distance in your SxS.

The original Mules still hold true to this, own 5 for work and they are excellent. They come with 3 year no fault anything warranty. Problem is dealer backorder is only way to get them now just about.

The Pro FXT is huge and fast. If they were out of Pioneer 700s, I would buy one. They actually do as good in duck holes/fields as my 700. Not as good as Ranger, but parts aren't falling off of them either. That price is way better than Polaris.

Do you know if it comes with same 3 year warranty as the original Mule?

I saw one of these the other day. Decent looking rig but I know nothing about them.

I’m guessing by the upvote to downvote ratio on your post that they are trash. Do people just repeat this because other people on the internet are saying this? Or have yall owned them and had issues?

Yeah, I've thought about this. Not sure how I would mount base for winch, the back windshield covers rear rack where I'd like to mount it. I've got a chain harrow that I finish my plots with and it's not easy getting it in and out of the bed. I can manage smaller deer, but anything 140+ lbs I have to climb into the bed and pull them up by hand. Busted my arse a couple of times before I perfected this technique.

Don't know if the speed was governed or not. Buddy who serviced mine said it was more of a lawn mower engine than a sxs engine. I had an early 2000 model for many years until a close family member ruined the engine trying to drive out of a boggy pasture. Loved that thing and would have kept if forever....did keep the wife who blew it up but wasn't very happy with her.

Crappy made Chinese product. Good for dry farms, but the wiring and other electrical parts are installed as cheaply and shitty as possible.

You seem like a Pioneer 700 fan. Tell me: if I use one in the hills of SW MS, am I gonna miss the lack of a low range?

I don’t know about that particular model but, the Kawasaki diesel mules we use at work are freaking tanks.
VERY reliable machines.

In my opinion, the GEO Tracker is the most capable, best value used 4wd vehicle at the lowest price if you find one in decent shape. Upgrade one with a lift kit, snorkel system, off road tires and better suspension and go places that a lot of other off road vehicles simply cant go.

Have driven two extensively and have never felt like they were overgeared. In fact what I don’t like about them is they feel like they’re in low 24/7 compared to belt machines. The trans tends to keep the engine revving higher/louder than it seems like it should be to be going 20 mph, etc. We don’t mud ride but have some bad mud in late winter and the ground clearance/weight will get them stuck before they can’t spin the tires. In my opinion they’re heavy for the power they make and allow way too much engine heat into the cab (every puddle is like stepping into a sauna if you’re using it in July) but if you don’t care about that they are absolute tanks. One of them probably still had all the original fluids when it was sold and never had a single mechanical issue in hundreds of hours of abuse/neglect.

Pro tips:
bilstein for the suspension, paired with Old man emu springs .
Route the intake into the cab rather than fuss with a snorkle. If the cab isn't flooded, the engine isn't flooded.
31in buckshots or swampers. No more, no less.
Winch bumper in the front and you are good to go.

Just curious if you shopped around. I got a 2024 Mule Pro MX from the Bastrop dealer for $3k less than House of Cycles quoted me.
