Just received it via e-mail from LSU. Not sure how I got on the list, but make sure you fill it out if you receive. I'm not sure if my link is specific to me or I would post it.

"Dear Hunter,

The LSU School of Renewable Natural Resources is conducting a survey of Louisiana waterfowl hunters following the 2019-2020 hunting season on behalf of the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF). Your name was selected from LDWF license sale records.

Your participation will provide vital information for proper management of Louisiana’s waterfowl and waterfowl habitat. We are asking you to take a few minutes of your time to complete the survey -- there are only 30 questions! If you did not hunt waterfowl during the 2019-2020 waterfowl season, you only need to answer the first question and submit your survey!

Participation in this survey is voluntary. We know of no personal risks to you from participation in this survey; however, you must be 16 years of age or older to participate. The survey is intended to be anonymous, so please do not include your name in any responses. All individual responses will be confidential. By completing the survey, you are providing your consent to participate in our study.

You may take the survey by clicking on the link below. Please complete this survey no later than May 15th, 2020. Please do not forward this survey to anyone else to complete!

As a fellow waterfowl hunter in Louisiana, I thank you for your interest and participation in the wise use and stewardship of our treasured ducks and geese. We are working for Louisiana to continue to be “Sportsman’s Paradise”."

Lie on it...make out like you hunted 85 days and saw 3 birds hard up against the best refuge in the state....maybe they'll do something to actually help hunters that way 'cause if y'all are like most states they are going the other way and doing it fast....

I live within 15 minutes of an area that stretches for 150 miles and winters several million ducks and about half that many geese and sees about the many more migrate during the season....the area is about 50-100 miles wide...it is a sizeable area! Only about 5% of this area is open to waterfowl hunting AT ALL...even on private land...because of regulation...and the area that is open forces all hunters to stand in one anothers shadow....and the area is less and less every year. There are still some staggering numbers of birds harvested and hunter success ratio is very high but there is no reason why all of that area is off limits to hunting...the quality of hunting would be far superior were more area open to hunting because you could actually decoy birds and hunt them the way they are meant to be hunted....instead most are pass shot when they are working someone else's spread and that of course leads to all manner of mischief....

One thing that was not on there was refuges feeding ducks keeping them sitting.

yeah, it ain't no secret...the Columbia River in Washington....I will even narrow it down some....Down stream from just below Priest Rapid Dam to about 30 miles down stream of McNary Dam....good luck...if you like hunting 100 yards away from someone else it'll be very good.....but be careful....about 90% of the area could be safely hunted and is suitable habitat that holds birds but only about 5% of it is open....the remaining 5% will also hold birds but it isn't suitable for hunting as it would require building a blind in someone's yard or in an industrial park....

It is astonishing. I’ve seen in that thick on far smaller areas like loafing ponds on NWRs but this is an area of what, 6-800 square miles. Most of that is ag fields and a great many of them are now vineyards and apple orchards but those that are grain are THICK with waterfowl at times. The problem is about 90% of it can’t be hunted meaning the areas that can be get lots of prsseure and the bird know exactly where the boom sticks are hid......

I was told straight up from the biologist in charge that they closed most of the area to hold birds from migrating! And it works because river never freezes and the snap never covers the grain....
