Absolutely

They aren't going to be cheap (most places aren't) but they will get you right

Just explain to Sammy/Oaklin what you're looking for and all and they'll work with you

I have a fully loaded Mathews Z7 29/70 I’ll sell you for $500. I put a new string on it last summer.

The modular weight thing really intrigues me. Interested to hear how it shoots as I plan to upgrade my setup after this season.

I shoot the No Cam currently, but I grabbed a PSE carbon stealth a few weeks ago and almost walked out the door with it. 3.3lbs. It was ridiculous. Love my no cam but could be talked into the Stealth very easily. Have a feeling I will be switching after the season.

That is a steal.

Congratulations to the buyer.

Been shooting Mathews since the Ultralight. I hated the No Cam. I'd hate to think anyone would judge the company by that bow.

I’m not an expert by any means, have only been bow hunting the last 5 years or so, but the no cam feels really smooth to me. But before that i was shooting the pse brute, so I didn’t have much to compare to. Not a knock on the ol brute though, it killed my first buck with a bow and everything thereafter I shot with it.

I’m actually impressed this hasn’t turned into a fanboy pissing match. That seems to happen fairly often when new bows are brought up. Good job OB

No question about that. The problem is, since Mathews started getting kinda good at the dual cam thing, you get a whole lot more speed for barely any noticeable difference in smoothness. When I shot the no cam, I was shooting it back and forth with one of the Monster models. That Monster blew it away. The system starting with the Halons is even better.

System looks good. I really did the mod change out. Im on the fence of whether to dump my Triax or not. I really liked the Halon 30 and wish i didnt sell it. The Vertix gives me the good of both the Triax and the ATA of the Halon that I liked.

What's the difference in the TX-5 and the Triax?

TX-5 is their short draw bow. It's made for people with draws of 23.5 – 29.5(but you can get longer). Oh, and 1" shorter brace than Triax. It's the bow I'd buy today if I didn't have a Halon 6.

Good info to have. I’m going to start looking at it more after the season, but damn that pse carbon felt pretty damn good. I’ll look at the halons too, and try to shoot both to see how they feel.

The original Halon is now several cycles old, so the used prices should be pretty decent, and there has been very little change in function relative to how long ago they came out.
