So now you're getting smart with me huh? Just kidding; its all good. You can catch a big momma, just don't catch two to my none. That's adding insult to injury

From the reports ive read, seems like a lot of people said it was tough fishing so far. Do any of yall know what time they open the gates in the morning?

We were the first ones there, and when we put in at 6:20am, there were only two other trucks. There were a bunch when we got out though. Pillage caught one little 8in bass, and i scratched. It was awesome.

I'm at my car waiting for a friend to bring gas and food. Me and my brother fished all morning without a bite. I didn't drive all this way to not catch a fish lol. We gonna fish until dark.

Hopefully I can pull through with one. Unlike some people around here I don't give up early

Unlike some here, I don't torture myself when I know I'll have many, many more opportunities when I'm actually enjoying myself, rather than not being able to feel my hands, and not getting a single bite in three hours

I should have left too. Lost a toad right before I left and that was the only action all day. If I went home I would have had to go to a kids birthday party with the gf so the fishing was less torturous

Thats fair. I came home, walked the dog, cleaned the boat, took a nap, and cooked a gumbo while watching LSU baseball. Glad i left lol

Hit Lacassine Pool yesterday. Much better day, caught around 25 fish biggest was 7.4 on a white jackhammer and 7.9 on white fluke within 50 yds from each about 6 casts apart both were spawned out flabby bellies. 3 or 4 other respectable 4lbers all spawned out and rest were male dinks.

Show up in a 40hp or smaller rig. Make sure you got all your safety gear, your gonna get checked about 1 in 4 times you go. At least I do. Throw back the big ones (4lb+) so we can continue to have an awesome fishery. Make sure your rig gets up quick its shallow or you'll have to troll out to the canals. Watch your water pump you can burn one up quick. lots of vegetation. good luck.
