I went last year on the second weekend. By the time they opened the gate, there were headlights as far back as i could see in my rear view mirror just waiting in line to get in.

I'm still debating about making the drive. 10 to 14 mph winds wont be fun.

Once you get on the water, its not really crowded. Its getting in the water thats the problem.

Last year, there was about 30 trucks mid week when I went. Never fished near another boat. It was real nice. Cant wait to see the pictures from this weekend of the boats/trucks and some hawgs.

Just curious, im from SE La, and have always heard about how great the bass fishing is there. What’s the reason ? Is it a big lake ?

Its a water controlled marsh inside of levees. Its only open half the year and it holds some hammers in there. Its becoming more and more known with social media and the big article in LA Sportsman. Lots of people go but by June the grass is very thick. 40 HP restricted motors.
