The official announcement date is tomorrow, however, a media person for Ford "accidentally" made a YouTube video public today. In the 30 seconds that it was open to the public, a few screenshots were taken.

Follow this LINK at 10:45AM tomorrow for full announcement.

All we know so far, its going to have a fully boxed frame and it will come in black. All other info (1000TQ, LED headlights, runs on GM's recalls, etc.) is speculation at this point.

Personally, mixed feels. Not great, but better than what the 2011 model looked like when first introduced. Will have to fully grow on me for full appreciation. Biggest complaint on other forums is that the body looks like a Dodge. The body is actually a F150 body, so I don't get the complaint. Notice that the door handles are completely different and the window dip, that defines greatness, is still present.

Its better than that terrible pic released months ago.

Its the first new design in 20+ years. There are going to be upset people, im not one of them though. I will buy one once they get the new transmission figured out and before the new diesel regulations coming in 2018.

I do not believe that a single body panel from any older truck will match up with this one. I also suspect that the body panels are aluminum on the 2017 model.

Things I hope for:
Upgraded transmission.
LED headlights.
More power.
More efficient DPF system so deletes are not necessary.
Higher towing rating.

ETA: The interior is going to be almost identical to the current F150. Even the XL (base model) is very nice. The Platinum and King Ranch models are top of the line for any manufacture.

Maybe it's just me then. But my first thought was refresh, not remodel. Does anyone want aluminum panels on a work truck?

Stronger, more dent resistant, wont rust, lighter, and increases towing capacity. I mean, I guess some people don't want those things, but I do.

Ahhh. From what I remember reading, the aluminum panels were expensive as hell to fix. Thought they were more prone to denting as well.

Lots of luxury brands use aluminum, but until more domestic brands do, price will remain high. I have insurance on my vehicles, like most people, so cost is a non issue. More of something to complain about when other complaints fail.

GM, despite their ads, are moving to aluminum body panels in 2018 too. Should help drive down cost for those without insurance.

If a man as the coin to drop on a 60k truck, then it's his on damn fault if he doesn't have insurance to pay for the damage.

Sammich, are your insurance premiums higher due to the higher repair costs?

It's got a lot of everything in it. Chevy headlights, GMC body lines, Ramish cab, Tundra bed, etc.

There is nothing that I jump up and say I hate, but I haven't fallen in love, yet.

Is GM running LED headlights?

Or just LED accent lights?

2016 1500s will have Led. 2017 all GM trucks, at least higher trim levels, will have led.

The 2015 f150 led headlights have been a home run. Brighter and better aim than hids, even out of projectors.
