I think the camera still works, but there's an issue with one of the wiring harnesses that connects to the camera. I can't seem to locate any part numbers for any of the wiring harness that feed the camera. Has anyone run into this issue?

Should be the same harness that feeds the tailgate lock. I have the same year F150 with camera, but "knock on wood" have not had any camera issues. Biggest electric equipment issue I have is the bluetooth dropping a lot while streaming music or a video.

What did the dealer's part department tell you?

I believe that issue is the same I had on my 2015 F250.

There is a harness connection under the driver’s side dash close to the parking brake pedal. I had to unplug it and reapply a generous amount of diaelctric grease. Plug back in and never had the issue again.

For a long time, I thought it was the camera, but after someone stole my tailgate, the new tailgate camera had the same damn problem immediately.

I got lucky and found a cord enthusiast forum that suggested the fix. You should be able to find those old threads. Hopefully it helps you.

I took cameras off and half arse cleaned them and problem got better but not all the way. It’s like super sensitive and picks up nothingness lots of times. Elevation sensitive too.

sounds like the camera is crapping out. they are cheap and easy to replace with generic backup cameras, no need for super expensive ones just because they come in a ford box

I have the issues noted. I will be looking into the wiring harness issue.

Cleaned the connectors at the camera and the tailgate harness and it worked. Drove around for a while then it stopped working again. Should I try dielectric grease?

Ford’s camera system sucks balls. My 2017 F250 360 cams I had all cameras replaced under warranty. Now it seems like my 2022 F250 360 cameras are starting to get hazy a little bit. My truck is garage kept so maybe I’m just nitpicking because they are not near as clear as my BMW or Tesla cameras.

I sold my 2017 to my brother and I got in it the other day and could hardly see out of the cameras.

So, I did not put in my original post about the grease. When I pulled the grey harness plug by the parking brake, I also followed the harness all the way to the camera and added grease at each plug (I think it was two more). Took less than two hours, but I never had an issue again.

When I traded the truck in on a Tacoma a couple of years ago, the guy performing the evaluation on it actually said, "that's the first F250 with a working backup camera I've seen for trade in a long while."
