Saw this on Facebook, a guy supposedly caught a 15lb Bass on the Sabine River. This fish beats the record for that river by close to 6lbs and is within a pound of the state record.

To put into perspective how small the typical bass are in this body of water this one bass would have had him place 50th in the 4 Day Bassmaster Elite Series on the river in April.

This seem sketch to anyone else?

It’s also shy of 15 on that scale pic.

Disclaimer, it’s 2x as big as biggest bass I’ve ever caught.

That’s a Stud on Sabine, regardless of weight. I watched that BASS tournament and a few more through the years there, and a 3lber was huge … never thought I’d see on that big out of there

You are right a 3 to 4 lb bass would be like catching a 10 lb bass on Toledo Bend.

Those guys that put lead weights in fish have ruined me. Instead of marveling at a fine creature I have doubts in my mind when I see things like this sometimes.

Great catch…hopefully.

Very unusual for that location. But I also seen a 10lber come out of bayou lafourche so anything possible

Looking at the rocks and the background of the scale picture, plus the fact Today's Country 105.7 is in Leesville, LA, I think that bass was caught right below the dam.

I think the most realistic possibility, is that it was born in Toledo, flushed over the spill way, and has sat there and gorged on a constant supply of shad that last 7 or 8 years. Somebody finally caught her.

Use to be a good striper area closer the dam.
