People Demand 14-Year-Old Face Charges After Learning What She Hunted

quote:

Abby Wilson, 14, reportedly shot an elk that she mistook for a deer during a hunting trip with her father according to The Kansas City Star. The father and daughter were hunting legally during Missouri's deer season, but elk are protected in the area.

Dad immediately contacts Missouri Department of Conservation and tells them but online leftists lose their shite.

quote:

A Facebook group called "STOP Trophy Hunting NOW" posted about the story, saying, "Idiots and their offspring with guns in the woods, don't even know what they are shooting at."

This part made me laugh

Yeah bro they totally are going to let you keep an illegal kill

Should have just dragged it off into the woods and cleaned it while nobody was looking if you wanted to keep it

Can’t say I agree with the leftists but I sure can’t stand behind the father in this. Sure, mistakes happen in life all the time. But I’ve seen my share of dumb asses in the woods not knowing all the rules and or just doing dumb shite. Accident or not, you fricked up.

When I was 14 I couldn’t shoot French ducks and claim them as teal. The Dad doesn’t sound very bright.

Yet another example of why I believe we have too many hunters.

Yeah the dad either truly thought he could ask for forgiveness since it was his “daughter “ or didn’t know what the hell they were looking at.

Either way someone like that shouldn’t be hunting.

I’m going w the first since he asked to keep it.

He did the right thing by calling it in. I'm guessing maybe 10% of hunters actually do that. Maybe less. He taught the girl a good lesson in accountability. He gets high marks in my book.

she was probably just a little ways away from him and saw an elk and in the heat of the moment shot it thinking it was a deer. I can’t imagine they ever see elk while hunting deer in Missouri

This is how people get shot in the woods. See a moving dot? Must be a deer.

and she hunts?

We need a picture of today.

It might make all the difference when it comes to past events.

It's not like we are talking about a mule deer or something else that resembles a white-tailed deer...it's an ELK!!

The fact that they aren't common there is irrelevant--its clearly not a white-tailed deer.
