Bedico creek runs not too far behind the field, maybe a mile or so, figured it might be someone back there, it was muffled, but not by a whole lot.
Guste Island isn’t more than maybe 2 miles from where we were at through.

If anyone sees 2 labs with tracking collars in the 967 area of Wilkinson county please let me know. Guy just came to the camp looking. Tracking a deer last night and they took off and didn’t return. Collars died. House dogs. Be a rough night tonight for them

About to get ready and head to the camp for the evening hunt. These deer should be on their feet feeding

Centreville MS
36* wind N12mph
Box overlooking foodplot and feeder
Only seen a few does for the last week. Mostly in evening / nothing chasing them. No buck sightings. Seeing some scrapes but nothing all too active. Disappointing thus far

Just left the house headed back for an evening hunt. Some worthless bitch dumped a gut bucket at the intersection by the stop sign. Along with the 20+ empty corn sacks on the side of the road it got me aggravated.

I know a lot of out of towners come here to hunt but have some damn respect. Burn your bags and dispose of your waste properly. Not on the side of the roads or in the creeks

Decided to keep little hammer at home today. As badly as he wanted to go decided save it for later in week when not quite as damp and windy. Hate it though really want to be in a stand today.

This needs to be the next “all the rage” camo color.

Bobcat color is gonna be “uge.”

Saw some does at first light but no more deer. I bet this evening is a good one but I was in charge of making a gumbo for tonight. I’m pretty ok with sitting in the warm house with a few white cans though and the saints game. Good luck everyone.

I’m 10 miles SE of Centreville and I’m only seeing a few does and yearlings. No mature buck on cameras in weeks.

Did see a nice, heavy horned 8pt yesterday at Vine’s that a fella killed at 10:05am

This morning saw a sow and 7 piglets, spike bedded down, and young 8 point chasing a doe.

Changing up stands.

Lost a doe this morning. We found some white hair and little meat chunks but no blood. I must have grazed her belly. We looked for awhile but it was a fool's errand. I hope I didn't hurt her too bad.

Note to self: always...ALWAYS carry your weapon when in the woods during deer season

Holy crap!

On my drive in I stopped to check a camera. Was only a 60ish yard walk to camera. Just as I’m about to be at the camera, I take one step to the side to look down a lane and
BAM, there’s a mature buck crossing the lane about 30 yards away.

He doesn’t see me, I get up against the tree line out of sight and sprint back to the truck while looking over my shoulder. Grab the 7mm cannon, shooting stick, and grunt tube.
Heart pumping, don’t know where to set up, damn truck in plain view. If I crank it and move I may spook him.

Creeped to several positions over 20 minutes and nothing. I decided not to hunt that stand thinking he wouldn’t come back through. Keep thinking I made the wrong decision.

At least I know they’re cruising and looking for love in south Amite County, MS
