Just made it to the stand, battling a severe hangover.

Light north wind
Not a cloud in the sky. What a difference one day makes in weather.

Same old box stand. Same old ain't seen shite.

The ducks are another thing. A lot more movement today...
Yesterday I saw two woodies. This morning I've already seen 26 woodies, 4 big ducks, and a group of about a dozen teal or jacks. Too far to tell...

Just got home from gun youth hunt with son. Get to the blind only to realize breech plug is 1/2 a turn from being seated. Gun will not close with primer in. Had to drive home for a 30 second repair. Not winning parent of the year right now.

More ducks are generally killed earlier in the season in much of the coastal zone you fool. We just had a shitty stretch of bad weather leading up to the opener this year.

Don't worry, by mid January all you late season advocates will find something to bitch about, and it most likely won't be that all the ducks showed up at the tail end of the season. The late season ducks (mallards) don't show up in force anymore to carry the end of the season

Stfu, more hunters means more birds killed. I always kill more later, but not as many people hunt later in the season. We've been saying later season for a long time.

11yr old step son and I are in a box stand over looking a soggy, pitiful plot out front and have a road paved with golden acorns for about 100 yard stretch out the right window. Creek is up pretty high so we may be pretty much cut off in two directions
