Box stand on a pipeline
Springfield .30-06

Just a heads up. I'm not all that big on scent control, but the "earth scent" thermocell pad has this stand smelling like grandma's house before she goes to church . I do not recommend this shite to anyone. Pretty sure if any scent had to draw deer away, this would be it.

I usually just grab some fresh pine needles and crush them up and rub them on me.

Good luck fellas. About to put a deer neck pepper stew on the stove.

Skipping church to meat hunt. Hoping to pole a big doe and get my empty freezer headed the right way.

Pipeline with a .270
52* with light north wind
Rained all night but the radar shows we might have a break in the rain around 8.

I'll tell ya one thing...taking a crap in the rain at 5 am is no fun. I couldn't even get REB Jr out of the camper to hold an umbrella over my head.

You think 57 is crappy? It was 80 degrees here yesterday. EIGHTY.

EIGHT ZERO

I wanted to go coon hunt last night. Walking out yesterday evening I saw a cottonmouth go full submarine and slither his nasty arse straight away from me down the trail I was walking which was knee deep. Said frick this and went home.

I swear, either I'm really jealous or I'm really hating the neighbors, or both. Every hunt trip I have made this season to this box stand I hear the neighbor's gun go off and then I hear the fricker scream out "YEAH!!!!" And sometimes hear multiple people screaming "GOOD SHOT". ??????
Why couldn't that be me ??

REB Jr just shot a spike at 25 yards but hasn't found blood yet. I was texting him and looked in my mirror and had a small buck standing in the middle of the pipeline.

I see more deer between 9 and 11 than any other time it seems.

Vernon parish, temp 56, north, north west wind about 5. Scaup and grey duck so far. Overcast, fog, and low ceiling. Partner just hung his big arse over the side of the boat and took a shite. He used so much paper, i got a rag spread now. Might have a jelly fish warning on anacoco lake.

You and me both. I'm sitting until 11. If I don't get anything I'm calling it a day and skip this evening. Going home and put Christmas shite up and get slap drunk. Frickin deer pissed me off this weekend.

That's because of the bright arse moon had them moving all night.
Temps and deer possed me off this week so I skipped today. Heading to the lease in a few to go secure my lock ons. Not ideal temps to go wading in the swamp but got to get it done. Bringing extra boolits for the massing amounts of cotton mouths out

I've seen 5 so far but they've all either been small or far or both. The only big doe I saw never came out of the woods.

Pretty sure one is going to mess up before dark. I came back with rice bran piles for them
