Hate I missed our doe cutoff, don’t really care too much for trophies, just tender meat. Probably for the best you didn’t take that shot. Lol.

Schedule didn’t set up for a deer hunt this morning. Had to meet a guy between 8-11 at the lease in Centerville Ms. I got up at 7 and was at the lease for 8. Decided to walk to a plot and check on it. Ended up doing a 2 hour spot and stalk on a group of pigs.

Was able to get about 15 yards from two that were bedded. (Blue jeans and grey pullover). I started smooching to get them to stand but ended up alerting the others. One grunt and like a rocket they all bolted. Bloodied one but it was just too thick to get follow up shots.

Started trailing blood and was finding chunks of guts. In the process I’d catch glimpses of pigs as I’d spook them up. So not only am I trailing blood but also keeping a watchful eye for other shot opportunities or one that wants to try and turn the table on me. Ended up jumping a big one and made a head shot. Great big, old sow with grey hairs. As I ease over to her watching her do the death shuffle I come across the first one. Smaller sow about 100lbs with all her guts laying out. Amazed she was able to go as far as she did.

TLDR: I like to shoot pigs

Damn, you not worried about getting charged jumping pigs like that? Sounds exciting, but more than a little dangerous.

I’ve had a few charge me on this piece of property. Neighbors run hog dogs catch and release so they have a lot of fight to them. Most the time time when I jump them they don’t run they will turn and face me and bluff charge once. Hot lead usually changes their minds.

I’ve gotten real close to some big boars. If you remain real still, after the shot and the group scatters. They’ll run right by you.
