Hunting the same field I took a doe out of last weekend. Today is the last day before rifle opens up. Going to sound like a war zone tomorrow. Good luck everybody

Good luck! Was off Mon, Tues, Wed hunting, so stuck at work all day today. Will be part of the war zone tomorrow morning, though!

Box with two lanes in pine thicket.

Bucked out at my other lease Wednesday with my second which was my biggest Louisiana buck to date. Also have never killed more than one buck in a season. Why not try for all three?

Good luck all.

62* sitting on pipeline with .270 looking at a pile of rice bran.
Also put out 2 tampons with doe estrous on em trying to see if I can lure a buck in.

Countryboy, enjoy it while you can. My son’s 13 and last weekend we sat in the same stand for an afternoon hunt for the first time in probably 3 years. It used to feel weird hunting without him, now it’s weird having him in there with me.

Got a few college buddies in from Louisiana, the front on its way can’t get here soon enough. Hopefully the animals are up and moving, wanting these guys to sling some lead.

Hot and Breezy
I’m sitting on the damn ground under my box because it is infested with wasps and yellow jackets. I haven’t been able to get to my lease all year due to work, pregnant wife, and moving homes. I had a buddy “check” my stand and he said it was fine. No flying insects. I’ve now realized he didn’t even look in my box because it is being guarded like Fort Knox. I won’t see shite today, but didn’t want to waste the trip. Sometimes it’s good just to sit in peace away from the pregnant wife and 4 year old.
