after hunting yesterday, the only way I'd go out today is if I knew there was a GREAT buck in the area. As it is, I'm pretty sure there is no such thing so I won't be freezing for the chance to pass on a little 8. Screw this weather.

I have this weeks scheduled as vacation from work. If I’m gonna burn a V day then I might as well hunt no matter what the weather.

Kinda hoping I kill one and can start day drinking

17 degrees
Currently in car warming back up after learning the hard way that my waders leak significantly from the crotch.

Toughed it out about 45 minutes before I called it quits. Buddy is still in the hole and has only shot once since I left.

Watched 2 bucks running a doe off in the distance in the woods. They lost her and came by at about 50 yards. 14-15” 8 and a small 6.

Saw the 6 leave but think the 8 is still behind me somewhere. I’d really like to turn this heater back on

I’ve been out of town the last two weeks between in laws for Christmas and the went skiing. Buddy has made a few hunts and done decent. Few limits. Not much flying like the first few weeks.

Cold and the wind finally laid.
Got Jr in a ladder stand where I saw 8 does Friday afternoon.
I’m with the middle one trying get his 1st deer in a box on a 2 acre plot. We usually see something here. He’s shooting his 7mm-08.

My oldest killed a big doe this afternoon . I’m super happy for him. He’s been hunting hard all year and has been letting deer go left and right. He asked if he could go behind the house this afternoon where I’d seen some. I told him he was gonna freeze. He wanted to go so I got him set up about 3 and he shot at 515. It was 26 degrees and he was in a ladder stand. It’s his third deer but the first he’s killed without me there. It’s just a doe but I’m a proud dad. Good job BDub!!!
