Believe it or not (and I am a way bigger summer fan), I think of the Winter Olympics events like downhill skiing, ski jumping, and figure skating. Maybe growing up in Louisiana, the winter sports were more mysterious and fascinating. Lake Placid in 1980 is arguably the most consequential and memorable olympics ever for Americans.
I think of Lake Placid (Hockey and Eric Heiden) and Jim McCay when I hear the olympic theme.
