You're a total buffoon.
Mondo is more popular in Sweden right now than a retired Zlatan. Like that's not even debatable... yet here you are

I never once said Zlatan is less popular than Mondo internationally.

Again... the award is literally considered by the Swedish people to be a popularity contest.

are you Swedish? or do you just keep up with random sports awards from other countries?
A biathlon competitor won it in 2018. So does that mean Hanna Öberg was the most popular athlete in the country in 2018? Or did she win it because she won gold at the Olympics that year
The award's description comes across as an ESPY for best team/player of the given year. Mondo set his first WR in 2020 and won the award in 2020. Makes sense

Its the definition of innocuous.

Who gives a frick if that comment is true or not in a thread about a guy going for the world record

He can't be thrilled over his quest for semantics and weird Alabama football jealousy. In a pole vault history event we may all never see again.

Please argue these are given to the most popular Swedish athlete

Sweden gave him everything he could want, even allowing his dad to be his coach.
The US basically told him he had to change coaches and oh we don't have much support for pole vaulting. That's what I was told
He made a good call for his career.
Finally someone who gets it

Guy. Take another Lexapro and just remember what happened today. Mondo did it. I would happily take him in Fayetteville all these years.

Mondo is the man and lsu was lucky to have him
None of that had anything to do with Briski saying a horse jumper was the most popular Swedish athlete in 2014

yeah, finally. That's what's going on here, no one understanding why he's competing for Sweden. Because why he is hasn't been beaten to death the past 5 years

Pretty impressive being born and raised in Lafayette, and trained in Baton Rouge Does Louisiana produce a lot of National Swedish champions?

Yes. End of story. Legit Mount Rushmore type kids. Like Mike Conley when he shattered the LJ record. Just savor it.

It’s not some secret. Mondo had even talked about in interviews
Having his dad being allowed as coach and the ease of qualifying. That’s the reasons.
That doesn’t make him a bad person. I promise you pretty much 99% of athletes would all do what they think is best personally. They are trying to win. Period.

Well judging by 80% of the responses in this thread, no one really does understand.
I haven't read/posted in a lot of Mondo threads before, so sorry if it was redundant for you
