Are they?
Wasn’t it’s origins in American ghettos?
dunno about the origins, but I do know Jabbawockeez and remember America's Best Dance Crew and a large majority of them were Asian, not black...
i mean, whites invented basketball and last i checked, they ain't exactly making up a large percentage of professional players nowadays, just sayin', as far as your "origins" comment/take

Mens breaking is on. They're better than the women.

Ok I'm watching the men's now and this is much more impressive. Still don't think it should be an Olympic sport but this is better
Posted on 8/10/24 at 9:12 am to HeLeakin
their technical and physical ability is better, yeah, absolutely...
but it's still a stupid fricking event, and if this shite shows up next Olympics, something is wrong

It's better than Race Walking, Handball, and Horse Walk Retarded

It won’t be back. This was a French choice as the home country gets a few adds.
LA is adding baseball/softball, flag football, squash, cricket, and lacrosse
Edit: it’s some form of streamlined cricket, I’m assuming so they can actually get the event done in 2 weeks. lol

Race Walking,
i rather this b/c it's not subjective... you have a measurable winner, not a judgement that determines a winner...

Handball
again, score determines, not judgement...

Horse Walk
ok, i agree with this one

baseball/softball
pitching will end up being an issue, unless you can carry a bunch of pitchers on your squad

flag football
could be cool, we should dominate

squash
don't know anything about this game, not gonna lie
quote:
cricket,
frick this game... i dunno why i don't like it, but i just don't
quote:
lacrosse
should be a mainstay, and the male counterpart to field hockey, for all future Olympics

Do you like gymnastics and diving?

do i like them? not really...
i only give a shite about either one, every 4 years when the US is competing, but i think you missed that it was just my opinion that i rather events that the element of having a judge determine a winner is eliminated and that the actual events of the game/race/competition determine the winner instead...
that's ALL i was trying to say.... given the option of an objective winner, vs a subjective winner, i'd RATHER objective....

Agreed. I found myself interested in it for a few minutes this afternoon.
I wish the commentators could have told us more about the specific moves and how they might be perceived by the judges.
As a result, I didn't really know what I was watching. Thus, I am still confused why this guy, Hiro10, lost to the US breakdancer, even though he seemed to bring down the house with an extremely difficult series of moves:
