hope I’m wrong but with the next generations of athletes I’m not seeing that ultimate do whatever it takes to win mentality for the most part.
We have seen multiple track athletes have unreal come from behind gold performances

China can’t complain, pretty sure they had a boxer in the same situation.

Ok China’s down to their last 6 events. I see then ending up at 39.

A wrestler getting a gold would give us some breathing room.

China does not have one. Chinese Tapei, which is really Taiwan, has one. The two countries absolutely loathe each other fwiw.

At least that's my understanding, someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

Glad China’s not getting another gold, but as someone who has trained in the same gym as some good boxers, I was uncomfortable watching that.

That punching power is not normal for women at welterweight. It’s not even normal at middleweight.

of course all of this is alleged.

The IBA just hints at it to take shots at the IOC and the but they won’t release any testing.

which you know is suspect.

IF this comes down to a single gold... I'm gonna be pissed ...that China leads that count AND did so with a BMX gold medal. I get the bikes are made there but...America should own that sport

The other is representing Taiwan.

China is pretty anti-LGBT relative to the U.S. Xi has demanded broadcasts not promote or even display homosexuality, and they don’t allow transgender identity unless it’s after surgery that has be approved by the patient’s whole family.

So I’m skeptical China would even let their women’s team be represented by a hermaphrodite or trans person.

Of course the last 3 of China's events on that list are BS events. I would beat anything that China realizes they are an unathletic group, so purposefully train as hard as they can in the BS events like ping pong just so they can top the US.

Again, if the US has better athletes, why don't we also dominate these events? We should have better athletes able to dive and ping pong than China if what you are saying is true

Ok I a seeing china ending up at 39. I think they win the last 6 they are favored in. Definitely 5.

So we need to take 7 of the following:

M Basketball
W Basketball
W Volleyball
W Soccer
W 4x400m
M 4x400m
W 100m H
W 200m Sprint Canoe
M Freestyle 65kg
M Freestyle 97kg

I feel good about the relays , Basketball and Canoe.

Just need 2 more out of the remaining, but sweeping would be cool

and Rose Zhang winning Gold wouldn’t hurt

Bruh, the other xy boxer is Algerian where he’s straight up illegal to be lgbt and such.

None of it makes sense

You’ve also seen favorites just get beat like Richardson in the 100, Lyles in the 200, and the men’s 4x100……I think the mind set of athletes is just different today and very much influenced the way society is moving in today’s world.

ETA I respect the hell out of Lyles running the 200 with COVID but I think it still goes to my point.

Still top dog but we won 11 Gold medals in 2020 and 8 this year.

We also have won 11 in T&F this year to only 7 in 2020, so that’s kind of a wash
