and I mean that in the most sincere of terms (no flame)....I have been hearing that the well could have been killed on day 2 or 3 but that in doing that, BP would have had to cede 30% of the well to some other party and that there was also the chance they would lose the well altogether. Is this true?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I think this premise is one huge pile of rotten cow manure...and for obvious reasons. It's the FAR left wing conspiracy theory.

obvious reasons.
Apparantly not obvious enough as this crap comes up once a week.
Lets see, cap a well and walk away without a lease and maybe a billion or so in expenses. That is one option.
Think about that for a minute and let it sink in. Now the other option is to flood the fcking gulf for three months with oil, lose half the value of your company, rack up $100 billion in payouts/claims, and maybe bankrupt your company. All of that to save a freaking lease?
I would think an 8th grader could put the math together, but I know a good conspiracy never depends on commone sense.

Not really aimed at the OP, but just in general about the 15 times I have read this or heard it on the radio in the last month.

all encompassing propaganda has that special touch, dont you think?
EVERYTHING is a conspiracy? Neat touch.
totally change? right under our noses?
Maybe its magic, or voodoo, too.

Maybe Obama swam down there and blew up the well so that he could shut down drilling.
Now the drilling ban seems a sort of knee jerk reaction to me, but some of the conspiracy ideas are a little bit of a stretch. And I am no Obama supporter.

Never thought I'd see an event that could start more false rumors and untrue information than an LSU coaching change. Between this and the abandoned well "story" I'm thinking this event has topped it out.

Are you saying this is all Lester's fault?

quote:My sister's cousin has a hairdresser that has a friend in the TAF (I won't mention his name). He said that his nephew works at the airport and heard from his buddy that someone else saw the LSU plane with Les and some guy that looked like the BP guy on it. That BP guy is a geologist who he could tell looked nervous. So obviously the OP is true and BP are working with the CIA via Les Miles because he really want's to coach at Michigan and this is the best way out of his contract. Only Nick Saban can save us now.
